Best actors of 2010: Well, there goes a close run between the actors as most of them have excelled in various style of performance. But standing on the frontline is actor Suriya, Vikram, Rajnikanth, Kamal Haasan and Karthi. These actors have showcased multi-dimensional characters in all their releases. Especially, it’s Vikram and Rajnikanth for their challenging performance in ‘Endhiran’ and Vikram (role reversal in Hindi and Tamil version of ‘Raavanan’).
Best actresses of 2010: Obviously, it’s Trisha as she went ahead stealing the shows with her distinguished roles in ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya’ and ‘Manmadhan Ambu’. Best choreographers of 2010: Flexi Stu for ‘Hosanna’. The song had every attribute to keep us hooked in. Shot in exotic locales of Malta Islands, the song had a peppy choreography.
Best thriller of 2010: Director Naaga’s ‘Aanathapurathu Veedu’ offered best ‘thrill’ moments for the audiences. The screenwriters of the film including Sharath Haridasan crafted an engrossing screenplay, thereby offering an experience of different thrill. The other film ‘Or Iravu’, an experimental project had new-styled elements. Sasikumar’s ‘Easan’ was a thriller, but to a certain extent.
Best comedy flick of 2010: Director Rajesh’s ‘Boss Engira Baskaran’ is the one and only comedy entertainer of 2010 as it had ‘fun factors’ throughout the film.
Best love story of 2010: Gowtham Menon’s ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya’ can be ennobled as the heart-touching poem of love. It became a heart-and-soul of groups that even didn’t know a single line of Tamil. Such has been the enchanting presentation of Gowtham Menon. The other romantic flick can be ‘Madharasapattinam’ that had beauteous element of love.
Best commercial flick of 2010: Shankar’s ‘Enthiran’ made a history-breaking record across all centres followed by Hari’s ‘Singam’ is the outstanding commercial flick that had repeated audiences for the film. Lingusamy’s ‘Paiyaa’ is the third runner-up.
Best intense movie of 2010: Prabhu Solomon’s ‘Mynaa’ had riveting ingredients that it kept the audiences engaged throughout the film. The narrative structure, characterizations and unique technical traits made it more enhanced.
Best Music directors of 2010: A.R. Rahman is the ‘Black Horse’ running ahead with lots of successful albums including ‘Raavanan’, ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya’ and ‘Enthiran’ and other versions as well. Yuvan Shankar Raja’s ‘Paiyaa’, ‘Goa’, ‘Baana Kaathadi’ and ‘Naan Mahaan Alla’ were also good hits followed by G.V. Prakash’s ‘Madharasapattinam’ and ‘Aadukalam’.
Best Cinematography: Santhosh Sivan and Manikandan for Manirathnam’s ‘Raavanan’ have won incredible laurels even amongst the critics of ‘LA TIMES’ and ‘NEW YORK Times’. Manoj Paramahamsa presented finest visuals with ‘Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya’.
